The challenge of connected cars

C-ITS: Bridging Assisted Driving to Autonomous Driving via Data Exchange.

THE CHALLENGE.

Cooperative Intelligent Transportation Systems (C-ITS) hold the potential to revolutionize road safety and traffic management by enabling Cooperative Driving. However, realizing this vision faces significant challenges. C-ITS relies on information exchange for seamless vehicle cooperation, addressing critical obstacles such as technical complexity, stability, integration of heterogeneous systems, security, time to market, and compliance with regulations.

To tackle these challenges, the Automotive Cooperative Driving Testbed (ACDT) serves as a flexible platform, empowering users to test C-ITS applications and systems. ACDT facilitates end-to-end simulation, recording and comparing message flow and timing across protocol layers to verify implementation conformity. This ensures the correct functioning of the entire system.

ACDT bridges the gap between C-ITS theory and practical implementation, validating technical complexity, stability, reliability, and security. It aids in the effective integration of heterogeneous systems while ensuring compliance with regulations. Moreover, ACDT accelerates time to market, aligning C-ITS solutions with the rapidly evolving automotive industry.
